As we move into autumn, we are looking back with immense pride at the impact of our 2026 Mobilizing Youth Advocates for Resilient Communities (MYARC) summer program! Over seven transformative weeks, fifteen high school youth advocates brought vision to environmental justice work across the San Gabriel Valley.
From studying urban water capture at Arlington Garden and analyzing air quality data with UCI, to mastering root-cause organizing with CAUSE and exploring transit equity in the San Gabriel Mountains, this cohort demonstrated what true community resilience looks like in action. They applied their learning directly into tangible solutions—authoring environmental justice grant proposals, collecting petition signatures for local public lands, and producing original impact videos that highlight pressing local issues.
We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our funders, Clean Power Alliance (Community Benefits Grant), Nature for All, and Southern California Edison for investing in our MYARC youth. Special thanks also goes out to our program partners, guest speakers, community members, and families for supporting our youth throughout the summer.
