Esther (she/her) is a Program Coordinator on APIFM’s Sustainable SGV team for Clean Air SGV, Environmental Justice Summer Institute and Nature For All programs. Her personal passion in environmental sustainability led her to first volunteer with APIFM, during which she discovered her larger passion for environmental justice for the API community in the San Gabriel Valley and beyond for everyone everywhere. In her past life, she spent many years working for for-profit companies in various areas of communications. Now she hopes to bring that experience plus her strong desire to slow down global warming to further the goals and increase the impact of all of APIFM’s sustainability work.

Esther was born in Los Angeles county and raised in Alhambra, CA by a family of 3 generations of Hong Kong immigrants. She left LA to get a taste of northeast life and attended Northeastern University in Boston where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. After graduating, she worked in New York City until she missed the comforts of her hometown and decided to move back in with her family in Alhambra. In her free time, she loves being out and about in LA with family & friends enjoying the city’s diverse local arts & culture. When she’s not out, she’s continuously finding ways to be more earth-friendly with her family, sewing, or binging K-dramas and K-pop.
